Meet Laurie Dupar

Laurie DuparHello! My name is Laurie Dupar and I welcome to the Coaching for ADHD website.  I am glad you’re here. Let me tell you a little about my story. Nearly eighteen years ago, I was a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by day and the mother of a seven-year-old son newly diagnosed with ADHD by night. Despite my experience and education in the medical field, during those early years, I felt helpless as to how to help him manage and overcome his challenges. Our whole family was in chaos.

A few years later, I discovered ADHD Coaching, began applying coaching techniques with my son and saw what a positive difference it made in his life and the overall well-being of our whole family. I knew I wanted to use this approach to help other parents, students and adults overcome their ADHD challenges, feel more confident in their abilities, and experience success.  Now, fifteen years later, after working with thousands of people with ADHD, seeing the same positive changes in their lives, I know this is my life purpose. To coach people with ADHD and teach other people how to coach people with ADHD, so they feel understood and maybe for the first time feel hopeful about living successfully with ADHD.

Today, I am happy to say that both my son and I have been able to pursue our dreams…and not surprisingly two of my other children, my husband and myself have all been diagnosed with ADHD.  Although an unexpected journey, I have become an expert on ADHD and coaching and speak nationally and internationally about both. I have authored several books about ADHD some were #1 bestsellers on Amazon.com, and founded my own ADHD Coach training center, The International ADHD Coach Training Center (IACTCenter.com), to teach others how to become an ADHD life coach or simply add the skills of coaching to their existing role or profession. My son has completed his five years serving proudly in our United States Navy as a submariner and elite Navy Diver, and is preparing for the next adventure in his life…college!   I am a proud and grateful mom. Here is a picture of me with both of my boys.  (The one on the left is my Navy Diver…the one on my right is my oldest who is living his dream as a golf instructor in California!)

I know there are many families and individuals who are going through what I went through, I talk with them every day, and I know they are struggling without the support and resources from professionals who really understand what ADHD is all about and don’t know how to help themselves or their loved ones. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way.  Your lives can change, just as it did for us.

As a trained Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, credentialed ADHD Life Coach, mother of four “launched” young adults (three with ADHD), a husband and myself who have been diagnosed with ADHD as adults, I can help you unravel your challenges.  Understand these missing pieces so your life can be entirely different. ADHD is never the reason to not live life your own way.

Professionally, I specialize in working with frustrated, near the end of their rope, complicated clients diagnosed with ADD/ADHD who want to finally understand how their ADHD brain works and discover effective individualized strategies to minimize their challenges and leverage their strengths. Yes!  You do have strengths.

My private clients include children, parents, students, college students, adults and seniors who are wanting to work in a 360 holistic way with a medical professional who understand the neuro biology and psychopharmacology of ADHD and has the experience, and skill of a credentialed ADHD Life Coaching expert.

If you are wondering if you would benefit from working together, I just want to say…you know who you are…you have read the books, spent hours on the internet looking for answers and still can’t figure out what’s missing. I know you have tried it on your own and if it was that simple you would have found those cookie cutter answers to work. What’s different is that I am a fifteen year veteran ADHD Life Coach with thousands of hours learning what works for people just like you. I know all the bazillion variables needed to design solutions to your success. Strategies that are individualized based on how your ADHD impacts your life and what outcomes you want. My unparalleled background, education and years of working exclusively with people living with ADHD provides you with the one resource you need to create an individualize management plan to work with your ADHD challenges so you or a loved can live a life of independence, happiness and satisfaction as was intended!

You benefit from my experience as a trained Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, my fifteen year professional training and credentialing as an International Coach Federation (ICF) coach. My affiliation with several international ADHD organizations, including:  The ADHD Coaches Organization (ACO), CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder), ADDA (Attention Deficit Disorder Association), ADD Resources Board member,  and five years as a faculty member and now the director of my own ADHD Coach Training Program. With all that I have going on…add inspirational speaker, ADHD coach trainer, author and educator about ADHD, I have never wavered from my commitment and personal mission to increase the awareness of ADHD worldwide, and train world class coaches to bring ADHD Life Coaching into all corners of the globe.

I was raised and educated in the Pacific Northwest and have moved back to the Seattle area after 12 years in Northern California, partly to be nearer to my youngest daughter who is completing her education to be a teacher. I am once again appreciating the rain, the beautiful greens and fresh air of this part of the world.

You don’t have to go it alone.  I can help and invite you to schedule complimentary consultation with me to see how working together can change your life. Email, "> and my assistant Meg will send you the link to my online calendar so you can find a time that works best to connect.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Most fondly,

Laurie has a unique ability to bridge goal setting with her knowledge of ADD. She has been very helpful to me as I have become aware in my early 40's that I had ADD. ”
